Jazz Evening - John Wheatcroft (guitar) and friends
Time: 19.30 Doors open
Chester Little Theatre is delighted to welcome John Wheatcroft and his fellow musicians to the Salisbury Studio on Saturday 20 October. The Little Theatre in Gloucester Street, Chester, is building up a good following for exciting jazz evenings and this one should be exceptional.
Guitarist John Wheatcroft seamlessly integrates the sound and approach of modern jazz with the timeless Franco-American swing of the legendary Django Reinhardt, producing a sound that is both rooted in the traditions of the genre and vital, forward thinking and is highly original. The wonderful John Padfield on saxophone, flute and clarinet and the equally amazing ‘Count’ John McCormick on double bass join him for a set of standards, unique arrangements and original tunes that not to be missed.
"John Wheatcroft has an incredible arsenal of knowledge on the guitar, and puts it all together into a very appealing style that will be appreciated by casual listeners as well as diehard music fans. Most importantly, he really swings!!" John Jorgenson…
The Salisbury Studio at the Little Theatre provides an excellent venue for relaxing and enjoying the music in comfortable surroundings. The acoustics are very good and the bar will be open.
